Randolpin Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Every second, every minute, hours, days, etc. we learn.. But our knowledge are finite and is this would probably hinder our goal to understand the reality if we only rely solely on our logical abilities? Answers are welcome... tnx...
Phi for All Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 You seem to be saying that since we don't know everything, we can't trust what we think we know. That may have been true at some point, but you know, science happened.
swansont Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 We don't just rely on our logical abilities, so isn't this a moot point?
dimreepr Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Every second, every minute, hours, days, etc. we learn.. Let me FTFY "Every second, every minute, hours, days, etc. we learn.. someone learns"
Outrider Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I think that potential knowledge is infinite but then that's just my opinion.
Delta1212 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I think that potential knowledge is infinite but then that's just my opinion. This is trivially true and easy to demonstrate, actually. Pi has an infinite number of digits and does not repeat. To know every digit of pi would require knowledge of an infinite sequence of digits. So just in that one extremely narrow subject, there is an infinite amount of potential knowledge to be had. Even if all other possible knowledge were finite, that would still mean potential knowledge as a whole was infinite. 1
