asriram2011 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) Hello. for my chemistry experiment, I am using a colorimeter to measure changes in color intensity when adding citric acid to henna (the chemical dye is called lawsone). I am not sure what products are created when this reaction happens. Can someone please help me? Edited February 1, 2017 by asriram2011
BabcockHall Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 What are your thoughts? Once you provide your ideas, someone may be able to help you.
Elite Engineer Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Acid washed jeans are faded because the acid reacts with the specific dye in the fabric. The reaction alters its "conformation" (lack of a better word), and causes it to lose its color property. hope this helps.
