Lots of anxiolytic drugs are benzodiazepines or barbiturates (these last ones are actually more frequently used in more obscure processes: anaesthesiology, sedation, euthanasia, ...). Some benzodiazepines might act as an anti-epileptic drug. Gabapentin and pregabalin resemble GABA and activate the GABARs, in order to calm the brain down.
