EvanF
Ran across this last night on YouTube...I thought some people here might find it entertaining. Right in the beginning I noticed something that's typical of the 'christian truther' movement when it shows the 'human evolution' picture with a big 'X' on it saying "NO FOSSIL RECORD FOUND"...They really don't know that we have all kinds of even well preserved skulls of hominids like Homo erectus which are undeniable. However one thing in the video I didn't really have an answer for...and that is starting at about 10:12 there is a rocket strapped with a camera that just stops in mid air with a 'thunk?' Strange
Right in the beginning I noticed something that's typical of the 'christian truther' movement when it shows the 'human evolution' picture with a big 'X' on it saying "NO FOSSIL RECORD FOUND"... That will be one of those "alternative" facts we have heard so much about recently.

saguy
With a standard wide-angle camera lens, the earth's curvature will look fairly flat. Using a fish-eye camera lens, they could "prove" we're living inside a sphere, if they were motivated to prove that notion.
DrKrettin
Only imbeciles, will find it entertaining.. The scary thing is that there are imbeciles who believe all this crap. It is so disingenuous.

Caserias
This is a masterpiece in my opinion, its not true or have quality of a real scientific evidences but it opens your mind about questioning the things around you, questioning isnt a word only for religion, when you really watch this video with "could it be true" perspective, you are the real scientist

There are many things in science which are no longer open questions - to believe otherwise is madness and completely fruitless

"This is brilliant because it makes you think about things that aren't true and for which there is NO EVIDENCE!!!" That is the opposite of science.
michel123456
What is the motive behind this? Why would one promote such a lie? ---------------------------------------------- Creation, releasing, and advertising of such video, is promotion of stupidity. Resurrection, renaissance of the middle ages..From Wiki During the early Middle Ages, virtually all scholars maintained the spherical viewpoint first expressed by the Ancient Greeks. From at least the 14th century, belief in a flat Earth among the educated was almost nonexistent, despite fanciful depictions in art, such as the exterior of Hieronymus Bosch's famous triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights, in which a disc-shaped Earth is shown floating inside a transparent sphere.%5B3%5D According to Stephen Jay Gould, "there never was a period of 'flat Earth darkness' among scholars (regardless of how the public at large may have conceptualized our planet both then and now). Greek knowledge of sphericity never faded, and all major medieval scholars accepted the Earth's roundness as an established fact of cosmology."%5B4%5D Historians of science David Lindberg and Ronald Numbers point out that "there was scarcely a Christian scholar of the Middle Ages who did not acknowledge [Earth's] sphericity and even know its approximate circumference".%5B5%5D Edited February 13, 2017 by michel123456

Get rich on ads from Google, $1 per every +-1000 views, would be my bet. The more catchy/controversial subject, the better for view counter.. Sensei
If it is the case then this thread should be deleted. Not even closed: deleted. Absolutely. Not to trashcan, but permanently, because Google and other search bots will find it there, analyze content and find link.. And then in Google/Bing etc. database there will be entry f.e. "domain www.scienceforums.net has link to website http:// earth is flat . com", or whatever is there... Google/other bots are faster than any moderator, in recording new posts and present links in them. And even if mod delete/remove post permanently, search bots already have them in db..
