ausguerila Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 A dish-washing tablet used to clean dishes and cups leaves some kind of residue. I left some burbon whiskey in a cup overnight and there is now a powdery substance in the liquid. Would this be due to the corrosive properties of the alcohol or residue normally?
fiveworlds Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 A dish-washing tablet used to clean dishes and cups leaves some kind of residue. Usually this is caused by dissolved substances in the water not necessarily the tablet itself. I left some burbon whiskey in a cup overnight and there is now a powdery substance in the liquid. Again probably due to the quality of the water the whiskey company is using. Would this be due to the corrosive properties of the alcohol or residue normally? More likely leaving your whiskey out caused water to evaporate from it causing dissolved solids to come out of solution.
