helpfulcounselor Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 My 3 kids are really into science and want to create their own science lab at home to further their learning and gain hands-on experience. My youngest is in 5th grade and will be in the middle school next year. All 3 of my kids are advanced in academics and need something far more than what the school provides. Biology and chemistry are there favorite topics. Where should I start? Any resources out there to help us build our own lab? Thanks in advance!
Sensei Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Biology and chemistry are there favorite topics. Maybe slightly off-topic. But did you think about buying them ball'n'stick kits to visualize chemical compounds.. ? http://www.ebay.com/bhp/molecular-model-kit

Chemical model rockets are a lot of fun and can teach a lot about chemistry. Like that potassium chlorate doesn't require oxygen to burn because it's already inside it's chemical makeup. Hence, it can burn underwater.(WARNING! There's an in-ground pool that has a very large crack in it because of this experiement..... not naming names....)
