System Design Process Project, need help getting started

I have a project for a graduate IT Enterprise Course which is the following

 

"Use the information systems design principles represented in this course to analyze information system design processes for at least two similar enterprises. Identify similarities and differences of the design processes. Synthesize the design principles of the two enterprises into a best prictices information systems design model. Provide a research/evidence based rationale for the synthesized best practices information systems design model."

 

 

The way I'm perceiving this is that I have to take two similar enterprises, weigh the similarities and differences between their design processes, and then combine them and make them better. However I'm not sure what an enterprise is in this context. Any examples would be appreciated, I just need a push in the right direction
