jessehk
Sorry if this is in the wrong topic but I have windows 10 installed on my laptop with Realtek audio drivers up to date but no audio manager. All of the sudden, the audio is playing from both headphones and speakers. The computer does not detect the headphones but there is audio coming out of them. Can anypody tell me how to disable the speakers? Thanks.
StringJunky
Try: Right-click speaker icon in the taskbar > Troubleshoot Sound Problems. Do it with them in and not in and see if either sorts it. Edited April 6, 2017 by StringJunky
Velocity_Boy
I have the same software and headphones you do in my laptop. And even once had your same problem. What I did to rectify it.. ....right click on the sound control icon, I get Open Volume Mixer, Playback Devices, Recording Devices, Sounds, and Troubleshoot Sound Problems. jessehk
I have already tried this but it does not detect anything, I may try getting a headphone to USB adapter. When I plug in a USB headphone it works so this may work
StringJunky
Uninstall both sound drivers in Device Manager > Sound Controllers then Reboot. Select the red cross on top in Device Manager after clicking the driver entry and follow prompts with OK. They are native drivers so will reinstall on a reboot. Lord Antares
Have you tried other audio jack headphones? To me, it seems most likely that those particular headphones don't work. Plug them into your phone and try.
jessehk
Yes, I have tried both of those and still no sound. The headphones do work though. I think I have a headphone to USB adapter somewhere so I may try that
