maslow's hierachy of needs?

is it true that the maslow's hierachy of needs has been debunked and doesn't make much sense?

Well, it certainly doesn't make much sense. It seems to be one of those bits of made-up nonsense that gives psychology a bad name. I don't know if has been debunked, but I think it has been much criticised. The Wikipedia article has some info:

 

 

 

In their extensive review of research based on Maslow's theory, Wahba and Bridwell found little evidence for the ranking of needs that Maslow described or for the existence of a definite hierarchy at all.^[14]

As per his evaluation of needs self-actualization was at the top of the pyramid, and I give some weightage to that ....
