The point of the "Chinese Room" thought experiment is to show that

 

A.

even if someone programs a computer to lie, that does not mean that the computer is intelligent.

B.

although some computers have no minds, those that pass the Turing Test do.

C.

even if a computer passes the Turing Test it does not prove that it has mental states.

D.

mental states cannot belong to human beings translating Chinese.
