A vessel of mass 80 g(S. H. C. = 0.8 J/g) contains 250 g of water at 35°C. Calculate the amount of ice at 0°C, which must be added to it, so that the final temperature is 5°C. ( Latent heat of ice = 340 J/g).

You need an equation that gives the energy required in this conversion of ice to water, and to changes in temperature of water.

You have to start by finding out the amount of energy (latent heat (of fusion in this case)) 'Q' to melt the ice Q=MLf then add that to the amount of energy required to raise the the temp from 0 - 5 degrees Q=MCΔT. Add the Q's together. then use that amount to find the mass of ice
