BigMoosie Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Hey guys, my first post here. I hope this turns out to be some descent forums. Does anybody know the name of the curve that is represented by: x + 1 y =... ------------ ...= y (x + 2)(x - 1) It creates a curve like this. Thanks alot!
Dave Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 I've never seen this type of curve classified, personally. You might want to consider using LaTeX for the typesetting, it's much easier than ascii [math]y = \frac{x+1}{(x+2)(x-1)}[/math]
BigMoosie Posted June 1, 2005 Author Posted June 1, 2005 You must have seen my little counter balancing ... = y. How do I use MathML, if that is what it is?
Dave Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 We use LaTeX... you can find a guide in the General Maths forums at the top of the page.
the tree Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 It's quite easy, in this case it'd be y = \\frac{x+1}{(x+2)(x-1)} in [math] tags.
BigMoosie Posted June 1, 2005 Author Posted June 1, 2005 Whenever I click a Math image a popup appears with text in the bottom right: Click here to see a LaTeX guide That is a broken link, somebody should take care of that.
Dave Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 I shall deal with it shortly. I'd forgotten I'd put that in, to be honest
