"Engineer - The application of scientific and mathematical principles to practical ends such as the design, manufacture, and operation of efficient and economical structures, machines, processes, and systems." dictionary.com According to this definition, genetic engineering fits right in. We are creating species with superior genetic systems, with a practicle side effect.
gib65 Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Engineering is a general but well defined methodology for building or developing something physical. It goes far beyond guys in hard hats laying brick and putting steel pipes together.
