Dudde Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 not much time, but does anyone have any idea for what I could do for a visual on my presentation on shock therapy? I'm covering insulin-shock therapy, electroconvulsive therapy and a few other methods (like Metrazol and malaria-fever) that either sent the patient into convulsions or otherwise helped cure the insane I suppose I could inject myself with Malaria but I'm not that kind of all-out person for school projects;)
Glider Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 ECT is still widely practiced, so it shouldn't be difficult to find information to present concerning its history, efficacy and biological mechanisms of function. I'm not sure about the others, but I'm fairly sure none were particularly effective at 'curing the insane'. ECT is used in the treatment of depression. Very effective it is too.
Dudde Posted June 6, 2003 Author Posted June 6, 2003 yeah...I know...I did my presentation without any props or anything, I hope that doesn't take too much, I did make a few quick improvisations and got something out of it...
