kevmac Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I have what I think is a new idea about the CMB (I haven't turned up anything similar so far). I'd be very grateful if you could look at it and let me know what you think: "Is the CMB a Reflection of the Universe Before the Big Bang?" link removed Many thanks Kev
imatfaal Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 No. The CMBR is an afterglow of the universe about 380,000 years after the big bang - when +ve ions and electrons started to become atoms and the universe stopped being opaque. It may (must) have the detail of how the universe looked at very early stages embedded in it - which might mean some folk would answer yes to your question (the big bang is a model of the universe from the very earliest stages we can hypothesise about - therefore there are fractions of time before the big bang but by definition we know nothing about them) but I would say no
Strange Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Penrose et al. claim to have seen evidence of the pre-Big Bang universe in the CMB. Others are not convinced. http://www.preposterousuniverse.com/blog/2010/12/07/penroses-cyclic-cosmology/
kevmac Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 I'm new to this forum, and didn't know I could upload files. Attached is the article, since people may be reluctant to click the link. Thanks BB.pdf
petrushka.googol Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Yes, it is ubiquitous and reminiscent of the pre-inflationary epoch.
