Hey guys. It's my first time here.

The two problems below are virtually the same. I don't know the reason why the second has translational kinetic energy included while the first doesn't.

In the second problem there is a fixed axis of rotation. That's why there is no translational KE. The cylinder is not free to move linearly (only rotationally)
