Why do you think it is being kept secret? 

As you have posted a photo, it doesn't seem terribly well kept.

And it says "Cook Island - South Sandwich Island" neither of which are secret (and both consist of multiple islands).

On the other hand, the Cook Islands are coral atolls, so probably don't look like that. And 10,000 km from the South Sandwich Islands. What is the source of this image?

Using the lat-long numbers on the photo and Google maps, reveals South Thule - three islands, namely Thule, Cook Island and Bellinghausen Island. The satellite view shows snow and ice coverage as one would expect at this latitude. They are the most southerly of the South Sandwich Islands in the South Atlantic. Strange, you are mistaken in thinking the South Sandwich Islands are coral atolls. They aren't. Perhaps you are thinking of Cook's naming of the Hawaiian islands as the Sandwich Islands. And I think there is a Sandwich Island (singular) somewher in the Pacific.

The islands are uninhabited and part of the British Overseas Territory that incorporates the Falklands and South Georgia. Unless MI6 are training squads of suicide penguins I can't think of any reason for secrecy and, as Strange points out, the fact that we have a picture of it demonstrates it is not secret.

Find hi res maps or sat photos of this location. Find any info on bases or landings here. Civilian ship took this photo. There are not many photos, civ or other, that can be found. Even on g maps the island is blurred out. 

They are uninhabited islands with little or no current economic value. Areas of economic value have high resolution photographs taken of them and detailed maps made of them. I'm sure the UK government has more detailed information on file, but there is no compelling reason to make the material publicly available, because there is no public interest.

On the other hand, here are is a link to research publications in Google Scholar. There are over 9,000 relating to the South Sandwich Islands, many of which were dependent upon "landings". It rather looks as if the islands are not so secret after all.

Are you serious? It's an uninhabited island. What kind of "info" do you want? What bases and landings are talking about?

Saturn must be a secret too because no landings or bases have been reported.
