gib65 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 My editor just asked me: who else besides Heisenberg and Bohr attended the Copenhager Convention in 1927. I always assumed it was just Heisenberg and Bohr themselves, but were there others?
J.C.MacSwell Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Copenhagen Convention? Is there another name for it? The fifth Solvay Conference in 1927 in Brussels was quite famous for discussions of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics by Bohr A. Piccard, E. Henriot, P. Ehrenfest, E. Herzen, Th. de Donder, E. Schrödinger, J.E. Verschaffelt, W. Pauli, W. Heisenberg, R.H. Fowler, L. Brillouin; P. Debye, M. Knudsen, W.L. Bragg, H.A. Kramers, P.A.M. Dirac, A.H. Compton, L. de Broglie, M. Born, N. Bohr;I. Langmuir, M. Planck, Marie Curie, H.A. Lorentz, A. Einstein, P. Langevin, Ch.-E. Guye, C.T.R. Wilson, O.W. Richardson Fifth conference participants, 1927. Institut International de Physique Solvay in Leopold Park. 2

I believe it is the same event the OP is talking about. 1 hour ago, gib65 said: My editor just asked me: who else besides Heisenberg and Bohr attended the Copenhager Convention in 1927. gib65 Posted September 14, 2017 Author Posted September 14, 2017 If the fifth Solvey Conference is the one where Heisenberg and Bohr officially settled on the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, then this is the one I'm asking about.
studiot Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 J.C.MacSwell Since the OP hasn't thanked you for such a clear and complete answer I will. +1
MigL Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 The 27th Solvay Physics Conference will be held Oct 19-24 of this year. They follow a 3 yr rotation, and, it is by invitation only. ( and dammit, although I work for Solvay, I'm not invited )
