3blake7 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 (edited) I searched for it but didn't find an answer. I was wondering how many unique molecules there are in the human body. Not the total number of molecules, but the total number of unique molecules. Also, have we discovered all of them yet? Is it possible there are still chemical reactions occurring in the human body we don't even know about yet? Edited October 1, 2017 by 3blake7

My not very well informed guess is that we are not even half way. 5 minutes ago, 3blake7 said: Is it possible there are still chemical reactions occurring in the human body we don't even know about yet? I'd say it's certain that we don't. There are people doing research on that sort of thing 5 minutes ago, 3blake7 said: how many unique molecules their are in the human body. Lots more than we currently know about.
