Electrical Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 It is an equation. You just need to manipulate the values and you can get your answer.
Country Boy Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 If you let u= x+ 1, x= u- 1 and x+ 2= u+ 1. So what is f(u)? What is f(x) for any x?
inverse Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 f(x+1)= x(x+2) ---> f(x+1)= (x+1-1).(x+1+1) ----> f(x)=(x-1).(x+1) and f(x+2)= (x+2-1).(x+2+1)=(x+1).(x+3) f(x)-f(x+2)= x2-1 - x2+4x+3= 4x+2

vovka Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 I don't agree with answer. I think 'inverse' forgot to change sign...
