Is lower than 640X480 possible in XP Pro?

Featured Replies

Yes... if your graphics card allows you to select it... which is basically a no becaue no graphics card goes that low!

Next question: why would anybody want a resolution lower, at, or anywhere near 640X480 for a pc?

LOL that reminds me of my Mac days

what i used to do was invert the screen colors and desaturate it. Then I would zoom in so that all you can see is an arrow and one icon. XD

I want to lower the resolution because the resolution of the screen is lower than 640X420 well I'm not sure of the resolution but 640X480 doesen't work. It is a 7 inch DVD player.

Graphic cards are designed for computer VDUs which are normally bigger than 15inch... hence your problem when using a 7in display screen.

Ok is there a way to use a 7 inch screen so that it has better quality?

YES THERE IS

try a rpgoram like Powerstrip.

Many programs like this will allow you to do it on most vid cards. Easiest way to do it

From what I've seen, MOST graphics cards go much lower then that (I haven't seen the top of the line, but I doubt they're different). The problem is that windows isn't designed to use anything lower normally.

If you run an old graphical program, like a game, your resolution will be set to 320x200 or below.

It would take a special program to convince a desktop version of windows to go that low, and I dunno if one exists.
