Definition of bath - Kidney Physiology

Hello everyone, I'd like to know what is the definition of bath. I read the sentence "...diffusion of Cl− from lumen to bath..." relatively to the nephron's physiology. What does bath mean? Interstitium fluid or intracellular fluid?

I assume it refers to the creation of a salt bath? That is located at the Henle loop in the medullary fluid.
