In the past the entire planet was involved in wars: Ancient Rome, Mayans, Aztecs and Incas, Ancient China, Ancient India etc. World War II and Cold War. Today, the planet in general, is more globalized. There are some localized wars. The tendency in the future is to have less and less wars. Governments spend billions of dollars on armaments. The "warlike" companies will not exist in the future, there will be no more wars in the future. Does it seem utopia? The law of probability says that it is possible.

WWI was the war to end all wars, it didn't.

Since war is or can be the so-called black swan event, the law of probability can tell us little about future wars. Wars are often waged for resources so to avoid wars is to have plenty of resources and close economic and other ties.

This is why I think it will exist in the future. If the leadership is part of the arms profit process, wars will never stop, or won't have as good a chance at never starting.

The war of the future?

The most likely, because of overpopulation, the future wars will be for food and water, to be able to survive..

Starving people can be desperate.
