My answer is no

Why? Do you have any rational or mathematical argument against it?

Or just an argument from ignorance: "I don't understand it so it must be wrong".

Phi? Would you please close this thread? It is going nowhere.

I'll take that as a no.

I smell troll cooking up in the microwave.

Not only rude enough to fail to thank Strange for putting in all that effort to search for and find that delectable method, but also to flatly refuse to read it properly twice in a row.

All we have is the measurement of the distance between the different points on the screen.

Let me know where you stop understanding this:

We can measure the distance between the spots on the screen.

From that we can calculate the angles through which they have been diffracted.

And that angle tells you the relationship between the wavelength and the grating spacing.

Since we know the grating spacing, we can calculate the wavelength.

I suspect Dalo doesn't believe in the wave theory of light (and presumably nothing else science says) and thinks that by asking "difficult" questions he will make us realise it is a house of cards.

The trouble is, people who think that science is that fragile don't realise that it is actually a complex self-supporting structure rather than a pencil balanced on its point.

Just before or after that colon, I suspect.
