bsod Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Hello, I had a quick question about how the genetics of race mixing works. So lets say a 50% Asian 50% white female had a child with a 100% white male. would that mean the child would come out, boy or girl, as 75% white, 25% Asian? or would it depend on the gender the child is?
pavelcherepan Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Racial features are determined by a large number of genes in the phenotype. When people of two ethnic/racial backgrounds produce an offspring, the features of the child will depend on which of the alleles is dominant in the every pair. In the end you can have a great range of possible results for the case you're discussing, from the child being showing mostly Caucasian features to him/her taking very little from their dad. 3 hours ago, bsod said: or would it depend on the gender the child is? No.
