Everyone has been trying to explain that you cannot travel at or faster than the speed of light.

You can't get there from here. There is no physics that allows this, or describes it. You might as well be talking about what happens when you build a perpetual motion machine.

You can look at what is true for speeds v > c, and you either have to have imaginary mass or energy. Whatever that means — in much of physics, it is assumed that imaginary terms are not physical.
