Making a polymer from recycled material

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I’ve recently been watching a lot of Nile red’s videos on YouTube and it’s inspired me to synthesise something of my own. In short, if possible, I’d like to make some shoe soles out of old plastic or clothing or anything that can easily be broken down and re-polymerised into shoe soles really aha.

I have a (very) vague idea of how the method could work, the problem is I can’t find anything specific on how to perform something like this on a small scale; I can only find information on the brief processes large recycling companies use.

Does anyone know how I could go about doing this? Or of any websites that could help?

Any replies would be greatly appreciated!
