The Flash Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 How will you connect a cathode ray (5000v)(with a tube) to a chamber containing a type of gas such that the electrons in the tube moves into the chamber and the gas molecules do not enter the tube(thus disturbing the vacuum created.)

It is not clear to me exactly what it is you want to do. What do you mean by 'connect' ? What is your second chamber made of? Reworking the glass of a CRT is an extremely dicy affair. What sort of CRT do you have, magnetic or electrostatic focus? (that is a TV screen or an oscilloscope /radar etc display) ?
The Flash Posted July 27, 2018 Author Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) Crt tube in which electrons are deflected by electric or magnetic field. Edited July 27, 2018 by The Flash

John Cuthber Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 The usual answer is called "differential pumping" Essentially you have a box between the vacuum system and the gas system connected to a big vacuum pump. Gas leaks into it from the gas chamber, but it's pumped out before it reaches the vacuum chamber.

How will you install differential pumping b/w the tube and the gas chamber and how will it will work. Please explain briefly
