radiohead Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 lol, your supposed to put what you see first. My bad.
Pat Says Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Ha, that's kinda funny. I saw "God is no where" first.
Dak Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 god is now hear although, i should point out that im inclined to spell 'nowhere' as 'nowear', so maybe thats why?
Deified Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I saw god is nowhere. Perhaps this comes from my rabid atheism?
6431hoho Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 I saw "God is a whore", then "God is now here" Maybe it's because I'm ESL.
atinymonkey Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Electronic Sports League? Eastman Savings and Loan? Electronic Shelf Label? Emergency Service Level? Energy Systems Laboratory? Engine Speed Limit? Enterprise Software Licensing? Expected Service Life? I give in. What does it stand for?
Auk Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 God is nowhere 10 seconds later: God is now here. (Heavy sigh of relief)
Callipygous Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 god is nowhere. then about 2 seconds later god is now here.
Bettina Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 god is nowhere. What I've always believed anyway. Bettina
AzurePhoenix Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 God is nowhere. I had to reread it and break it apart six times to see the "god is now here" (and that's only because I gave up and peeked)
YT2095 Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 and the reason is because of how the brain works, it TRIES to make sense of things as soon as possible, and so it`ll take each letter at a time until it makes a word, then move on until it gets another word and so forth... the test reveals only that, and nothing else, don`t be fooled!
Kyrisch Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 "God is no where" five seconds later "God is now here"
tekHneEk Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Considering everyone in here read that sentence from left to right... I saw "GOD" first. Assuming you read sentences the way you were taught to. That is, from left to right.
tekHneEk Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 By the way, creationists see "God is now here." and Evolutionists see "God is nowhere." by nature, you have to take the latter if you don't believe in creation, and vice versa. I just noticed it's the "Rule of thumb."
ydoaPs Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Considering everyone in here read that sentence from left to right... I saw "GOD" first. Assuming you read sentences the way you were taught to. That is, from left to right.that isn't true for all people at SFN. iirc, many of the people here were first taught a defferent language. and many of those are languages that go the other way such as arabic. By the way, creationists see "God is now here." and Evolutionists see "God is nowhere." by nature, you have to take the latter if you don't believe in creation, and vice versa. I just noticed it's the "Rule of thumb." not necesarily true
573v3 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 and the reason is because of how the brain works, it TRIES to make sense of things as soon as possible, and so it`ll take each letter at a time until it makes a word, then move on until it gets another word and so forth... Hmmm, I think it will be more likely to be due to the fact that only 2 splits have to be made to see "god is nowhere" apposed to 3 splits to recognise "God is now here". See, it's just easyer.
Daecon Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 I first read it with only two (missing) spaces: God Is Nowhere. Then, knowing it was supposed to be some kind of game - I looked to see other possible combinations which is when I saw "God Is Now Here".
Paul Callan Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I see an unimaginative thread about a phrase that showed up on an ABC TV Series called "Miracles" a few years back. If you haven't seen it (which I'm guessing most of you have not since you responded giving this thread credibility) I recommend it. It is available on DVD... You can even rent it at Netflix. Here's the real "Brain Teasers and Puzzle" - Why are the "enlightened" and "open-minded" always so quick to dismiss theology? Wouldn't the "open-mindedness" preclude the dismissal?
Daecon Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 You could have the same sort of phrase on display in a café: SAUSAGESARENOWHERE Who cares if the first word is "God" or not?
mp Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 i got 2 things to say 1 yt2095 is so damn smart. i see him in every forum. how do you know the answer to everything? 2 i agree with tekHneEk. i think it does depend on whether your a believer.
