Vid Opacic Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Im on a science camp and we are building an infrasound detector to collect some data on an incoming meteor shower. We already built the amplifier with some plans we found on the internet. The plans sadly do not show how to build the antenna. We have been searching for a while if someone leaked the info on it bu we cant really find anything. If anyone knows where to find some plans for it or anything of that sort pleas tell us as it would help out quite a bit. I will add the files we have been working with to this post so feel free to check them out. Thanks!!! INFRASOUND DETECTOR.docx
Externet Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Welcome. The antenna would be called a microphone. Perhaps metallized PVDF film, low pass filtered amplification. Held to the rim of a drum or alike ring, and in a very quiet location. A piezofilm speaker could be used as microphone ----> https://duckduckgo.com/?q=pvdf+film+speaker&t=canonical&iar=images&iax=images&ia=images
Enthalpy Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 For infrasound, you may prefer a pressure sensor over a microphone. Possibly an array of sensors.
