positron Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 If the universe wasnt expanding, what will happen regarding a) red shifts in galaxy spectra b) the temperature of cosmic background radiation
the tree Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 To "a", there wouldn't be any as it is an affect of the universes expansion. To "b", I have no idea, I guess it wouldn't fade away nearly as quickly.
DQW Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 To "a", there wouldn't be any as it is an affect of the universes expansion. Why should a lack of expansion of the universe imply no relative motion between two galaxies ?
danny8522003 Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 It wouldnt. But there would be less redshifts and probably some more blueshifts too.
