Rose oil is volatile and will distil, but there isn't much of it so, unless you have a lot of roses, you are not going to see the oil- you should be able to smell it.

John Cuthber Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 The terms "fixed oil" and "essential oil" are very old fashioned but they (pretty much) mean oils that can not be steam distilled and those that can't. So, essential oils are volatile (by that definition). Almond oil is a "fixed oil".
