The universe is too perfect to just come about by any kind of random actions. The idea of a pre-existing matrix from which the universe emerged is not the beginning of the universe. This would just a mark a phase of the universe becoming. The statisitical probability that the universe just appeared by itself is a virtual zero. I have worked out the probability and there is just no way it could occur randomly, no matter what some would prefer. Science is not based upon taboos, just observations and data. If it is taboo to say that there was  a pattern to which the universe complied then science is wrong as this is the only true explanation, If that requires a God for some people's minds, then that is for them to analyze. The universe came from nothing. There was nothing before. There was no space, or time. That is all we know. All the rest is speculation and has no place in science. All the other explanations require paramters for which we have no supporting observational evidence.

Why do you think the universe is perfect?

And why do you think it could have come about by “random actions” ? (And actions by whom?)

Please show your working (as they used to say at school)

It isn’t. As long as you have evidence for that pattern.

We don’t know anything of the sort.

Sounds like a lot of speculation and assumption on your part to re-open a 16 year old thread.

Have you no hard facts, with verification,  to add?

Let's see the math, and how are you defining "randomly"

The pattern that arises results from the  hard-wired behaviour of the universe's individual components. That part is not random, only the incidence of collision between those components is, which would allow them to react.

I would like to know what the OP means by "perfect".  "Perfect" for what?   Certainly NOT "perfect" for life!  Almost all of the universe is terribly hostile to life. If the earth is "perfect" for life that is because life has evolved to fit it.

You would need to go back to the original OP in 2002 for an answer to that.
