Fixnfly Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Hello, My daughter is an absolute doll. But she doesnt speak, yet knows basic sign language. My concerns are she hits herself hard in the head when she doesnt get her way. Of course i tell her 'I dont hit you so, I dont want you to hit you' while trying to also stop her from constantly raiding our food cabinets. The teachers used food as a reward system and basically trained her to be a dog. By the time i figured that out the damage was done. How do i stop her from hitting herself? Any suggestions? Kristi
StringJunky Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 You really need somebody that specialises in her disability and issues. Her doctor should be your first port of call. This is a medical/psychological issue and we are not allowed, nor would we wish, to dispense advice that we are not qualified to give. We are just a science discussion group. Best of luck with getting help.
Fixnfly Posted September 11, 2018 Author Posted September 11, 2018 Im so sorry. I found a post linked to this site somehow with questions from other parents. Geez. Maybe it was some other place. Thank you for writing.
