When I dissolve tin in aqua regia, it reacts quite quickly. Soon after the reaction, if the stannous chloride (from brumer) is brought to a boil, the salt will boil for some time, and then all of a sudden, it boils uncontrollably. It escapes the beaker in the process. Please someone explain what reaction is occurring here? Is there a way to avoid this reaction?
