Why and/or how is it that epidural hematomas are able to cross the midline, while, at the same time, having an expansion that is stopped at suture lines, whereas subdural hematomas are unable to cross the midline due to having an expansion that is stopped by (cranial) dural septa? A source with some images illustrating the explanation for why would be helpful, but not necessary. Many thanks, in advance.
