mihirgaidhani
Hey there, Lets brainstorm about AR. I keep a vision that efficient and detailed work on AR will be a new future industry in itself. I definitely feel that AR is the "next big thing" that is being undernoticed or you can say being implemented in a non-innovative manner. Companies like Apple, Google, Samsung etc, are trying hard to integrate AR tech in their existing devices/technologies. But they are doing it in a way that just undermines the scope and potential this amazing technology keeps. In contrast, start ups like Leap motion, Holo lamp,Magicleap are working on AR intensively from years. The goal is to Replace all devices with AR and just make technology as immersive as possible. Imagine developing a software while walking on the street, editing a video/photo while clicking it and so much more!! feel free to brainstorm on the possiblities and ways we can develop this technology! no one knows this thread may give birth to the next big company! To make AR you just need GPS, and camera.. and eventually accelerometer in device.. Application is taking photo in the real-time, analyzing position using GPS, and adding new 3D rendered elements on the photo, and show it to the user of device (instead of plain photo). It's very battery exhausting task. Even using GPS all the time (like 1 read per second) is very battery exhausting task. Smartphone/tablet developer does not need any special support from Apple, Google, Samsung, apart from already existing and mentioned sensors. 11 hours ago, mihirgaidhani said: Imagine developing a software while walking on the street, That's nonsense. Nobody "develop software" (I assume "for smartphone") on the street. It's not even possible on smartphone itself (not on the street). You need to have Android Studio (or XCode) installed on PC/Mac/Linux. It requires a lot more memory than the real smartphone device. The majority of work is in thought what to make, not actual writing code.. 11 hours ago, mihirgaidhani said: editing a video/photo while clicking it and so much more!! What editing photo or video has to do with AR.. ? Edited November 3, 2018 by Sensei
