netlove Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 (edited) I am writing about relativity both special and general relativity. I am curious about time travel idea. Do you have any idea to share about all facts and cons of time travel. commercial url removed per rule 2.7 Edited November 29, 2018 by Phi for All No advertising, please
Phi for All Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 ! Moderator Note I'm not sure why you included the commercial link, but your question about time travel can be discussed without it.

In fact at very small scales it is occurring every time one of us takes a plane trip somewhere or other. Basically it goes like this...the faster one travels through space, the slower one travels through time. Time travel into the past is another kettle of fish and probably not viable, as one would need to go faster then light. Kip explains it far better then I.....https://plus.maths.org/content/time-travel-allowed
netlove Posted December 3, 2018 Author Posted December 3, 2018 What about CTC (closed time like curve)?

A mathematical solution/idea that is allowed for in GR but like a wormhole, still at this time speculative. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Closed_timelike_curve Edited December 3, 2018 by beecee
