aznblood Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Hi, I am interested in knowing how pure nitrogen is synthesize/produce. I've been searching the web but got no luck. Would anyone please give me an explaination or some resources. thanks Toan
Bluenoise Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Uhhh well most of air is pure nitrogen. As I understand it if you put it underalot of pressure and/or cool it you get liquid nitrogen. Here's a site of a company that sells machines that produce it on site from air. http://www.stirling.nl/sp/sp3.html As you can see it's not chemical but a mechanical process. Are you sure you searched the web though? I googled "producing liquid nitrogen" and this is the first thing that popped up, it even has a scimatic of the interior workings of the machine.
Tetrahedrite Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Uhhh well most of air is pure nitrogen. Don't mean to nitpick, but that statement is oxymoronic.....
YT2095 Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 nor me, but, you can`t "Synthesize" liquid nitrogen either, you can extract it, and then liquify it, but you`re not "synthing" anything. anymore than you can "Synthesize" Ice
Bluenoise Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Don't mean to nitpick, but that statement is oxymoronic..... Yeah didn't notice, I guess it'd kinda like saying works all the time 60% of the time. nor me, but, you can`t "Synthesize" liquid nitrogen either, you can extract it, and then liquify it, but you`re not "synthing" anything. anymore than you can "Synthesize" Ice Yeah noticed that too hence why I used the word produce. Maybe that's why he didn't get an web hits for his search.
