To store reactive metals there is often used mineral oil.

Kerosene is a reasonably widely available choice.

Ditto white spirit.

 

However, if you can't get them you have little chance of getting sodium

We always used Kerosene, or "stove oil". However, nowadays, my sodium is all stored as NaCl.
