Sarahisme Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 hi this answer seems too simple to be true.... i reckon its L/(1-v^2/c^2)^.5 and yeah i don't know what it means by "primary evemts occurring in this measurement"?? Thanks for you help ") Sarah
swansont Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 The stationary observer sees the ends coincident with the clocks simultaneously, stick end A meets clock a, and stick end B meets clock b. What does the moving observer see for ends A and B, and what do clocks a and b read at these times? (I think those are the primary events)
swansont Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 "L/(1-v^2/c^2)^.5" was that right though? Yes, that's correct for the rest length.
DQW Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 But how did you calculate it ? That's the important part.
