Bloomberg should of course be better prepared than he was last time.

A pretty low hurdle to jump

The Americans better not reduce their military; who will protect us Canadians ?

Protect you from whom?

The American military isn't about defense. It's mostly about deterrence.

A lot of nations know that the USA is unlikely to just randomly unleash nuclear weapons.(Even Trump didn't, despite listening to hours and hours of doom and gloom predictions from my more liberal friends, who at this point likely owe me millions of dollars from saying "I'd bet a thousand dollars.....").

They're less sure of the idea of us Americans showing up with a hundred million pounds of explosives and rendering their military a smoking pile of garbage in a matter of weeks.

And we have to keep upgrading our planes because with the likes of Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea selling terrorists and other nations high tech anti aircraft technology. We need to constantly get better to maintain that appearance of being "untouchable". (Also, how would Lockheed Martin stay in business without hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars🙄)

We’re off topic but cyber aggression can’t be stopped by planes, whether built 30 years ago and mainstreamed or the latest and greatest from Lockheed

Agreed we're off topic, and I agree with the point you made here. I didn't say whether I agreed with our military, I commented on what seemed like a misunderstanding as to the power of the American Military.

Anyways, back on topic, it appears that Biden is likely to win South Carolina. If that happens, then at least 3 individual candidates won a primary state.

During super Tuesday, it's predicted that both Mike and Amy are likely to pick up a state as well, putting that number at 5 individual candidates.

Come on !
They are, after all, only politicians.

What did you expect ?
The same high level of debate you get here, on Science Forums.

:D

As soon as someone put up that xkcd citation cartoon they'd be snookered. "Wha',... you mean... I gotta tell the truth?!" :)

Happy Leap Day everyone!

Now, what effect on Super Tuesday might Biden winning today in SC by double digits have? Could he spin it as making a comeback against Bernie and use it to rally enough to save his campaign? Or does Bernie have just too much momentum now to give it much effect...especially given that Biden winning SC is pretty much expected?

I guess it depends on who's more convincing...

How do Sanders and Biden match up in terms of (a) beating Trump and (b) winning the Houses?

Will either's supporters consider switching based on those criteria?

Have to say ,I am now very impressed by Biden based on his last town hall.

I would say, based on most Americans I know ( not members of this forum ) that B Sanders will not only lose the election, but also the popular vote.
American ideas about 'socialism' are THAT entrenched.

That being said, I would like to see no-one over the age of 65 running for President.
Retire already.

There's a huge difference between asking for a 4 year contract that will take you to being 84 years old, like Sanders would be (or 82 like Biden)...and one that would put you around 70.

Warren seems pretty fit and energetic for 70. I wouldn't hold her age against her (her identity politics is another matter)

That being said, Bernie seems to have recovered well from his heart attack (I wonder if it was done on a fair socialist allotment of medical care?)

President Donald Trump lashed out on Friday at the network that normally covers him so favorably over a new national poll that shows him losing hypothetical head-to-head popular vote matchups against all six of the top Democratic presidential candidates.

Not insignificant, but you have to take that with a grain of salt.

Trump/GOP attacks against individual Democrat candidates are by necessity diluted over the field at this point, and Democrats running for House and Senate seats swing States, have yet to distance themselves from the policies of the eventual Democrat nominee, as they don't know who that will be. Compare with it having been open season on Trump for the last 3 + years, Trump being a very clear target.

All polls are based on what people think at the time it is taken. With the tanking of the stock market and the spread of COVID-19, by the time November rolls around I might be able to beat Trump in the general election.
