Is there an edge of space or is it infinite?

Whether the universe/spacetime is finite or infinite, is unknown at this time. In either scenario though, there is no center or edge to speak of. The universe has been shown to be topologically flat within very small error bars, which probably infers the universe is infinite, but we are unable at this time to rule out a torus or donut shape, which would infer a finite flat universe. If the universe was closed, we could be sure that it was also finite, but again, with no center or edges, much as the surface of a globe or balloon.
