Devilmagra Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Hi First i made mixed Nitric acid + acid salt With this solution mercury is processed 3 times (every time used new acid) then i have got orange color solution and mercury is completly dessolved. Please tell me how i recover mercury from this solution

I would hazard that your mercury (assuming you mean you added elemental mercury?) has reacted, not dissolved, which might also explain the brown gas you have forming there (which is toxic, by the way). Please do not do things like this if you do not know what you are doing, and do not have access to appropriate safety controls. A reaction like this should ideally be performed in a fume hood, and you should not be working with it without full PPE. Mercury is quite toxic, and nitric acid isn’t super friendly either. If you don’t have a good reason to need it, I would strongly recommend not working with it. 2

hypervalent_iodine Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 It’s in solution as a nitrate salt. Please stop whatever it is you are trying to do and find a way to safely dispose of the reaction mixture. You are not equipped to be performing these reactions.

The point is as others have been telling you, is that Hg is very toxic and should not be handled and precautions need to be taken.
