News post practice: Skylon space plane.

The Skylon space plane is a British single stage to orbit space plane currently being developed within Europe between several countries. t's key features are it's 2 SABRE (supersonic air breathing rocket engine) engines, Hydrogen fuelled these engines take the plane to a speed of Mach 5.4 at an altitude of 85000 feet (16mi/26km) before switching the engines to rockets to reach an altitude of between 2000km (LEO) and 42 164km (GEO) depending on cargo (between 7.3-17 tonnes).

It's ceramic composite skin is hoped to give the Skylon space plane at least 200 orbital flights per plane.

It is hoped this will bring down the cost of payload to LEO to £650/kg with costs falling when initial expenditure is recouped. The total cost of the program is expected to be around $12bn.

The SABRE engines will hopefully be running unmanned tests by 2025. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skylon_(spacecraft)

Hi, I'm in year 11 and currently doing research project. Could you please fill out my survey about space exploration and the continuation of the human species? There are some climate questions so I thought this forum would be a good place for it to go. Here's the link if you're interested, it would be a really big help for me.

I think you are using different links, small letter "l" vs large letter "I":11.thumb.png.7add6e68e6b6d714adecd49a867bfb16.png

Top one works.

This one embeds just fine for me, if you use the direct youtube link (click on the "watch on youtube" icon and use that address. Not the embedded link — that gives me a "no video at that link" error)

If you still have trouble, you may have browser settings that are in conflict with embedding it

Also, when typing a post, check your settings in the footer of the text editor box. Just below it. You may have manually disabled embedding in your own personal settings by mistake.

Come to think of it, also check your personal settings more broadly. I think it’s somewhere around the personal profile. It seems like the system is actively preventing embedding and personal settings are a possible culprit worth checking.
