I want to ask if I can use LaTeX synthax in this forum to type maths formulae and symbols

You can. Enclose it in math tags: [ math]x^2[/ math] -> [math]x^2[/math] (note that there is a bug in the software so the generated text doesn't appear until the page is refreshed)

Try x \in \mathbb{I} [math]x \in \mathbb{I}[/math]
