Strange Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 We have had a couple of different members recently who have referenced Lee Smolin's work (in one case, claiming he had stolen their ideas). So I thought people might be interested in hearing what the man himself has to say about his work: Quote How to Understand the Universe When You’re Stuck Inside of It Lee Smolin has a radical idea for how to understand an object with no exterior: Imagine it built bit-by-bit from relationships between events. https://www.quantamagazine.org/were-stuck-inside-the-universe-lee-smolin-has-an-idea-for-how-to-study-it-anyway-20190627/ 3

Smolin is/was a renegade, good read.
Ghideon Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Thanks for the link. Quote ... founding faculty member at the Perimeter Institute. “Perimeter,” in fact, is the perfect word to describe Smolin’s place near the boundary of mainstream physics. For a change it is refreshing to read about more radical ideas from someone that also seems to have knowledge of current models and their applicability. Hope to get time to read Smolin's paper*. *) https://arxiv.org/pdf/1805.12468.pdf
