I am a third year BSocSci student majoring in Psychology.

 

Our assignment this semester involves formulated our own psychology research and I am in need of a topic.

 

I'm looking for a topic that is advanced yet manageable.

You could examine why habits are formed at the level of the brain. Habits are fairly well understood, but the added dimension of how we begin to crave certain stimuli would be interesting.

Depending on the habit, the brain may not even be the most interesting part to consider
