ku Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 If a society of people (society A) engaged in torture and slavery of their children as part of the culture, would it be correct and moral for another more powerful society (society B) of people to steal children away from society A for the good of the children? Assume that society B has a government that will protect the children's individual rights to freedom and pleasure.
insane_alien Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 is this hypothetical or are you planning to kidnap somebodies children? if it is hypothetical i, personally, would agree. if your planning a kidnap, call social services.

In fact, countries should be doing what they can to help take in more refugees from abusive countries. Countries have an ethical imperative to do so.
YT2095 Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 absolutely! in fact I wouldn`t even consider it "Stealing" as that word implies a Crime.
Douglas Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 If a society of people (society A) engaged in torture and slavery of their children as part of the culture, .Some people think that slapping a kid on the rump is torture, and making them clean their room is slavery.
