As for reflecting on my methods, I've been perfecting them for twenty years now, and they're very effective at shutting down trolls as long as the forum doesn't support the trolls. Moderator Note You need to report the offending posts so they can be evaluated, and it’s not the job of members to “shut down” trolls. Participation is voluntary; you should choose to simply not feed the alleged troll.
